Biography

John "Joseph" Walker was reared to a farm life, and after he came of age he learned to be a blacksmith. As early as 1820 he moved to the State of Arkansas with his parents, the country then being a territory, and from that time up to the day of his death was engaged in farming, becoming one of the leading agriculturists of the region. He owned an excellent farm of 200 acres, the principal part of which he devoted to the raising of cotton, corn and tobacco. He was married in 1830 to Miss Sarah McCubbin, whose people were residents of Marion County, Arkansas.^[1]

Jane was born on February 15, 1835. Place of birth is unknown at this time.

Death

Jane died on January 11, 1890 at the age of 54. She is buried in the Lunenburg Cemetery in Lunenburg, Izard, Arkansas.
