Biography

Reverend Thomas Chase (c. 1703 – 1779) and his wife, Matilda Walker (? – by 1744), were the parents of Samuel Chase, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Samuel was born near Princess Anne, Maryland.

Thomas was a clergyman who immigrated to Somerset County to become a priest in a new church.

Matilda was born in 1705. She passed away in 1741.

Walker-14426 and Walker-14182 appear to represent the same person because: They were both from Princess Anne, Maryland. 1705 is about the same time as 1704, and 1741 is a short time before 1744.
