WALKER, Gerald A. (age 91), lifetime Parvin area farmer, passed away March 1, 2007 in Pullman, WA. He was born January 7, 1916 in Colfax, WA to Orve and Eva Gerber Walker. Gerald graduated from Colfax High School, where he met his future wife, Barbara Smith. They were married September 30, 1938 in Newport, Washington.
He was awarded Conservation Farmer of the Year and later Wildlife Farmer of the Year by the Palouse Conservation District. He was the youngest charter member and previous Master of the Parvin Grange #1023, through which he was a member for over 70 years. Gerald enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Colfax and most recently was a member of the Albion Community Church.
Gerald is survived by his son, Stacey (Gloria) Walker of Palouse, WA; his daughter, Linda Moormeier of Everett, WA; sister, Elaine Harris of Spokane, WA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; his son-in-law and his parents.
A private family burial was held at the Colfax Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home, Colfax, WA is caring for the family. [1]
