Biography

Charles was born before his christening of 12 February 1807 in South Scarle, Nottingham, England; he was the son of Thos. Walker^[1] and Ann Hoadley.

Charles married Winifred Hunt on 13 September 1831 in Burton upon Trent Holy Trinity, Staffordshire.^[2]

They had 2 sons in England - Joseph^[3] (who died 4 days after he was born) and William.

In 1841 they immigrated to New Zealand on the Clifford, with their young son,^[4] William^[5]. Charles is listed with the occupation Agriculture labourer.

In 1848 Winifred gave birth to another son - Charles^[6] which probably lead to her death in 1848.

Charles married Harriet Roil in 1849 in New Zealand.^[7][8].
