Christain Walker was born on 26 April 1733 in Port Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Scotland, daughter of Donald Walker (bef. 1700– ) and Jean McUtcheon (abt. 1699– ).

Christain married James Bryson (born February 6, 1732 in Old Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland; son of John Bryson (1700– ) and Margaret McCauslane (1705– )).[1] Their known children were:
