Biography

Israel Walker I was born in Massachusetts.

Ensign Israel Walker, the son of Samuel Walker and Anne Sheldon (1627-1767; b. Blakewell, England) was born on 28 June 1648 at Reading, Massachusetts.[1]

Marriages and Children

Israel was married twice. He married 1) Susanna Baldwin (1652-1694), the daughter of Henry and Phebe (Richardson) Baldwin by 1672 at Woburn, Massachusetts.[2]They had twelve children born at Woburn:[3]

Susanna (Baldwin) Walker died on on 7 March 1694 at Woburn.[17]Israel was mentioned in Henry Baldwin's will (his father-in-law) in 1698.

Israel married as her second husband 2) Hannah (Leppingwell) Flagg (1646-1724), the daughter of Michael and Isabel (Cox) Leffingwell [sic] on 10 December 1696 at Woburn, Massachusetts.[18] There were no children from this union. Hanna was married to 1) Gershom Flagg with whom she had eleven children. She died on 29 March 1724 at Woburn.

Death, Burial, and Probate

Ensign Israel Walker died on20 April 1719 in his 71st year at Woburn.[19]He was buried in the First Burial Ground at Woburn, Massachusetts; however, the memorial has since been removed. His will was was made on 30 January 1718/19 and was entered into Probate on 25 May 1719.[20]
