Hyrum Alonzo Walker, son of John Walker and Elizabeth Walmsley, was born March 2, 1851, in Pottawattamie County, in the state of Iowa. His father was a native of Vermont, his mother was from England.
Hyrum married Mary Jerusha Wood, born March 14, 1853, at San Bernardino, California on October 17, 1870. Mary died at age 35, in July 1888, leaving Hyrum with five children, two children having died in infancy
When his first wife died, Hyrum immigrated Sarah Ann Jackson from England whom he afterwards married in the Manti Temple, November 13, 1889. Seven children were born to this union. December 21, 1910, Sarah died, leaving him alone again. All of this family except one (Verna) have passed from this life. Two wives and eight children have departed this life.

Hyrum died on 30 Apr 1937 and is buried at Minersville, Beaver, Utah.
