Research Notes
Some sources that may help to fill out Ruth Walker's biography and provide information about her and her descendants are referred to in the "Object" section of this biography, but did not transfer in full from the source gedcom. Some may have come from a book, The Legacy of Gideon Walker & Priscilla Duvall by Sheila Rusher Best, [1] that includes a genealogy of some of Ruth's descendants and a letter dated 9 Feb 1923 from Ruth's great-granddaughter, Alice B. Camp, to Mrs. Cora E. Behrends that fills in Mrs. Camp's personal memories of her relatives.
Some concern the following children:
Hannah Walker. On October 14, 1814, Ruth signed an authorization for the clerk of Nelson County, Virginia, to issue a license for her daughter Hannah to marry William H. Birkhead. The bond for the marriage is signed by the groom and Richard Walker, and identifies Ruth as the widowed mother of Hannah.[2]
