Joan was born about 1524, probably in Downe, Kent, England. According to a pedigree quoted in The Topographer and Genealogist, she was the daughter and heir of Richard Wallis of Cudham, Kent, England and his wife, a Burton. Joan married George Manning 13 August 1540 in Downe.[1] Their children are identified as
Joan is named along with her children in her husband's will, proved 16 May 1583. She was buried at Downe 5 Jun 1583.[2]
