Janet was born about 1872. Her father was John WALLACE, shepherd, and her mother was Mary WALLACE nee HUNTER.
Marriage
On 30 Mar 1896, she married John RETTIE at 94 Castle Street in Glasgow, Scotland.[1] She was 23 years old and John was 28. The couple were at the time living together at 24 Backbrae Street in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, Scotland. It was an Irregular Marriage by Sheriff's Warrant. She had two children with John RETTIE: John RETTIE (19 May 1896) and Adam RETTIE (2 Nov 1898).
