Biography

According to the 1905 history and genealogy of the Linn family, Hugh Wallace was born in Glen Crew, Ireland. No placed called Glen Crew or Glencrew has been found in any of the Ireland historical place name databases available on the internet, but one database offers the alternative of Glencrow, which is a townland in County Donegal. Donegal being also in the province of Ulster and having been settled partly with Scottish Protestants during the Ulster plantation, Glencrow very possibly is the place meant by Glen Crew as Hugh Wallace's place of birth.
