Name of Deceased: J. Hester Wallace Newspaper: The Charlotte Gazette, Drakes Branch, VA, June 7, 1928 Submitters Name: Bea. Adams King Obit: DEATH COMES TO J. HESTER WALLACE After a short illness J. Hester Wallace died at his home near Saxe, on Friday night, June 1st, in his 71st. year, surrounded by loving relatives and friends who did all in human power to minister to his needs. He leaves to mourn their loss, a wife, one daughter, and seven sons. He spent the most of his life in Charlotte County, where he was well and favorably known as a loving husband and father, a bountiful provider, a kind and thoughtful neighbor, a successful farmer, a highly esteemed citizen in the community in which he lived. His remains were interred at Ash Camp Baptist Church, at Keysville, on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, funeral services being conducted by his pastor, Rev. E.G. Ross, of Wylliesburg Baptist Church. The active pall bearers were: T.T., L.R., F.A., G.C., A.L. and V. H. Wallace, all sons of the deceased. The honorary pallbearers were selected from among his many friends and consisted of the following: L.S. Smithson, E.C. Moore, F.W. Howard, D.T. Copal, E.T. Roberts, P.L. Hechler, M.M. Hechler, A.H. Zollinger, M.P. Locke, W.T. Tharpe, J.M. Martin, L.W. Biting, W.H. Hamilton, D.W. Hamilton.
