Biography

Born about 1639, William Waller was the 2nd but 1st surviving son of Sir William Waller. He was the eldest son of his father's second wife Anne Finch.[1] He was educated at Leyden, where he entered in 1647 then traveled in France.[1]

In 1667 he married Catherine Mansel, daughter of Bussey Mansel of Briton Ferry in Glamorgan and his wife, Catherine Perry. Although there were no children from the marriage it was a good match for Catherine went to him with £2000. [1]

He succeeded his father in 1668 and had been knighted by 15 June 1675. He was first returned to Parliament as member for Westminster in 1680 and again in 1681. Sir William Waller died on 18 July 1699.[1]
