My name is Kelly Maureen Walsh Tor. My hometown is Maynard, Mass. I have been researching my family history for about five years off and on. I have found some interesting ancestry to include six decendants from the Mayflower, Revolutionary War, Civil War, and as far back as The War of The Roses. I also have numerous relatives from all aspects of the Salem Witch Trials.

I am looking forward to reaching out to others and learning more information about my ancestors. I am having a touch time with my Walsh line and am hoping to break the link from Newfoundland, to Ireland and could use some help with that.

I am willing to share any information that I have to help others on their quests into the past. It has proven to be fascinating and very rewarding. I would like others to be just as interested as I am

Hi, Kelly. Welcome to the Walsh one name group. I see lots of Walsh names in my reading of the BMD records here in Newfoundland. My Grandparents also emigrated to "the Boston States" but came back to Newfoundland. My earliest ancestors were from Kilkenny/Waterford. Good luck with the Walsh surname, it can be a hard surname to research.

Hi Kelly,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Welcome to 1776, Kelly and good luck finding your revolutionary direct ancestors. It seems like everyone knows about joining DAR and SAR for patriot ancestors....but if you find direct line loyalists, you become eligible for the lesser known lineage association, The United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada. Info is linked on its own page under the 1776 Project

Have fun!

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Have fun and ask for help in G2G if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. It’s a fun place too. Take a look at what I mean here, G2G’s Question of the Week: Going back in time, what burning question would you ask which ancestor?

If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
