Biography

Leonard was born about 1701 in Erbach Germany. He was listed at age 50 when he emigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada in 1751 on the Murdoch[1].

He was the father of Andreas Walter, listed at age 28 on the same ship, and also very likely Johann Peter Walter who immigrated a year earlier in 1750 to Nova Scotia - stating his birthplace as Michaelstadt en Erbach.[2]

It is likely Gertrude (Baltzer) was his second wife (not the mother of Peter or Andreas) as when he died she subsequently remarried to George Albrecht Mauser and had 7 further children. Her maiden name and both husbands are noted on her death record in April 8, 1772 in Lunenburg Nova Scotia[3] [4][5]

Leonhardt Walter died before 1753 in Nova Scotia as his wife Gertrud remmaried on 30 Jun 1753 to Albrecht Mauser[6] [5] His son Andreas Walther, born about 1723 in Erbach also passed before 1753 as wife Anna Elizabeth Walter remarried to Heinrich Vogler on 18 Sept 1753.[5]
