The name of the wife of William Gaylord was not known.
Many have said her name was Mary Walters, but Anderson proved that the Mary Gaylord buried in 1657 is clearly listed as the wife of Walter Gaylord, his son.[1] The confusion comes from the fact that his wife and Mary, the wife of his son, died within a couple of months of each other.[1]
The Palisado Cemetery inscription reads:
The inscription for William Gaylord, Sr's wife who died in 1657 simply reads:
"The wife of William Gailor senr dyed June 20. 1657.[2]
