Biography

Marie was the second child of Peter and Ann Walter.^[1] She grew on the family farm in Peel township, Wellington County.^[2]

She married William McCormick when she was 22 years old. The couple made their home at the hotel in Macton, Ontario, which William's family had operated.^[3] Their first child was born at the hotel the next year.^[4]Three more children followed between 1931 and 1934.^[5] The hotel closed in the mid-1930's. They had a total of eight children.

Marie was widowed at age 79 and died at age 84. She is buried in with her husband in St. Theresa Roman Catholic Cemetery, Elmira, Ontario.^[6]
