This Martha, wife of George Sims, might have been the daughter of a George Walton (maybe Walton-3804), but not the George Walton (Walton-976) who married Elizabeth and left a will dated 1764 that was probated January 26, 1767.
This Martha is not the daughter of George Walton (Walton-976) and hias wife Elizabeth. The Adam Simms, Jr mentioned in his 1767 will is said to be the husband of his deceased daughter Elizabeth. Children mentioned in that will do not include either a Martha or an Elizabeth, but Adam Simms has a separate ITEM bequest between those made to his daughters Mary and Catherine. (George Walton’s will, probated in Brunswick County, Virginia on 26 Jan 1767, mentioned his wife Elizabeth and children John Walton, Mary Ledbetter, Catherine Harris, and Isaac Rowe Walton.)[5]
There is another George Walton (d 1734, citing Deeds, Wills, Inventories - Book 1 restored by Virginia State DAR), who married Sarah Roper on "February ye — , 1710-11".[6]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Martha by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Martha:
Walton-2410 and Walton-71 appear to represent the same person because: see research notes under Walton-71 - it appears both of these profiles are intended to represent the Martha Walton who married George Sims.
Walton-3803 and Walton-71 appear to represent the same person because: see research notes under Walton-71 - it appears both of these profiles are intended to represent the Martha Walton who married George Sims.
Walton-71 and Walton-2395 appear to represent the same person because: the profiles for Martha's mother are in a pending merge. Born "about 1710" and "1711" are not incompatible dates. The spelling of her husband's name doesn't impact whether or not these profiles can be merged (she'll just have Sims & Syms profiles attached as her husband until the question is resolved and her husband's duplicate profiles are merged). So... I think that was all the objections to completing this merge? If not, let's discuss more. If so, please merge. Thanks!
Hi! I set Walton-71 and Walton-2395 as an unmerged match, as they do appear to be the same person but the New Hampshire father for Walton-2395 seems wrong. That needs to be resolved first. (Mother appears to have different surnames because only one of the profiles has Walton, her married name, as her current last name. Martha's husband's surname is simply spelled differently... that needs to be resolved before _his_ profiles can be merged, but not a reason to reject this match. A match shouldn't be rejected because birth information isn't exact - likely October 23, 1711 is correct, albeit not sourced, and 1710 lost an "about" in the gedcom upload. Cheers, Liz
