Original note when profile was created: See notes on profile of Sarah E. Walton-3626. See also Charles Sebert's Walton-3628 profile. Conley is a relatively unusual name, but is seen with some regularity in Thomas P.'s descendants. Isaac & Emaline's son, Conley, is enumerated on the same 1910 census page and Eugene & Cora's son, Conley, is on the 1920 page! Because I have no clarity on this Conley's mother or father, I am unsure on exactly how he connects back to the main Walton Family. Because of the 1920 Census, I am fairly certain that there is at least some connection however to the Thomas P. branch.
UPDATE MAY 2016: I now believe that there is enough of a record trail that I can add the connections here to show this as a family.
1910 Census
See photo.
Name Conly D Walton
Event Place Wilson, Grayson, Virginia, United States
See photo. Conley D. is listed as a cousin to Thomas F. & Martha Emaline. Also in the home is another young man listed as a cousin, Charles Walton. I believe these two young men are brothers. Rachel's children are taking care of two of Joanna's grandchildren.
1930 Census
See photo. Listed as DEAN, he is living in a boarding house in West Jefferson.
Name Dean Walton
Event Place West Jefferson, Ashe, North Carolina, United States
I haven't located this family on the 1940 census. Based on what little I've been able to locate in the record trail, this is what I think happened:
Nina's family moved from North Carolina to Maryland in the last part of the 1920's. They are in Harford County where we know that a LOT of the Grayson/Ashe people have moved. Because both Nina and Conley Dean's SSN were assigned in Maryland, its safe to assume that he had moved to Maryland where they met and married. Without a record but based on their oldest known son's 1937 birthdate, I'm guessing at a 1935 marriage. Nina & Conley Dean were in the Moxley family's home area, Glade Creek, Alleghany, North Carolina, in the early 1950's when their second known child Newton Clayton was born. I am unsure why Conley Dean was in Tennessee. Nina and both sons appear to have made their homes in North Carolina.
UPDATE April 2019: I was contacted by cousin Deborah Walton who pointed me to another child for Conley & Nina, Charles Dean. That information enabled me to locate this family's 1940 census. See photo and data below. Conley is working on a farm and Nina is listed as a Post Mistress.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Conley by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Conley:
