Biography

John Walwyn was son of Edward Walwyn and his wife, Peryn Brydges.[1][2][3]

He was married first to Margaret Peche, daughter of John Peche.[1][4]

The Manor of Newland in Gloucestershire was granted in 1568 to the Walwyn family, (probably John was the first grantee).[5]

In 1569 he took a second wife, Joan Rudhale (aka Joyce) who was the mother of his children.[6][1][3] Joan was the daughter of John Rudhale and his wife, Mary Fettiplace.[7][4]

John died before 1587[4][8] when his son, Robert, settled the manor of Newland on his wife, Penelope Lygon. John and his wife were buried at St James, Colwall in Herefordshire.[9]
