Harold was a painter and decorator.
He lost a finger by crushing it in a wire crimping machine (used to make mesh) at work aged about 17.
Served in Merchant Navy in WW2 although he says the Captain of the ship he was on always made sure they were away from enemy action. He was only on the ship because he was trying to get to his own ship but kept missing it.
He died on 4 January 2011 at 22 Leycroft Avenue, Tile Cross, Birmingham, West Midlands.
