Biography

John Ward was born in Ashford, Connecticut on November 9, 1716 to William Ward and Rachel Humphrey. [1]

John married (1) Abigail Walker, daughter of Nathanial and Jemima Walker, on October 10, 1739. They had four children:

  1. Sarah
  2. Darkis
  3. Eunice
  4. John (died young)

After Abigail's death on January 5, 1747, John married (2) Abigail Heath on March 27, 1748. They had twelve children:

  1. Aaron
  2. John
  3. Benjamin
  4. Tirzah
  5. Zerviah
  6. Sibyl
  7. Mehitabel
  8. Ruth
  9. Hepzibah
  10. Beulah
  11. Moses
  12. Ebenezer

The children up through Tirzah were born in Connecticut. The family then moved to Belchertown, Massachusetts where the rest were born. [2]

John died in Belchertown in 1800. (needs source)
