Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church, after Banns, by me, E. C. {Mee?}, Curate. This Marriage was solemnized between us, Samuel Seaton and Emma Ward in the Presence of James Johnson and Hannah Chambers her X mark[3].
We find Emma in the Census Record of 1841 living with her parents Isaiah (Ward) and Sarah (Roe) and siblings Joseph, Henry and John (Ward) at Back Lane, Bond End, in the Town of Burton upon Trent, District of Burton upon Trent, in Staffordshire, England. For some reason, Isaiah's Christian name is recorded as "Josiah" in the Census[4]. With the Census Record of 1851, Samuel (Seaton) has married Emma (Ward) and they live with their daughter Sarah (Seaton) and his brother, Joseph (Seaton) at The Guildables, 14 Horninglow Street, in the Town of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England[5].
By 1861, Samuel and Emma are living at Lichfield Street, in the Market Town of Tamworth, on the River Tame, Borough of Tamworth, 14 miles (23 km) north-east of the City of Birmingham (Warwickshire), in Staffordshire, England. They reside there with children John, William and Sarah (Seaton)[6]. In 1871, we find Samuel and Emma back living at Park Street, in the Town of Burton upon Trent, Parish of Burton Extra, in Staffordshire, England. Their children John, William and Sarah (Seaton) still reside with them[7].
Unfortunately, the Census Record of 1881, Emma has lost her husband Samuel (Seaton) and is living with her married son, John (Seaton); his wife Emma (Felthouse/Seaton) and their children Sarah Jane, Eleanor, Minnie and Samuel (Seaton). Their address is 84 Wellington Street, in the Town of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England[8]. The 1891 Census finds her living on her own working as a Charwoman at 14 Thomas Street, in the Town of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England[9].
By 1901, she is living with her married daughter, Sarah (Seaton) and Sarah's husband, Henry (Godfrey) at Congreve Buildings, 3 Station Street, in the Town of Burton upon Trent, in Staffordshire, England[10].
Samuel (Seaton) passes away around the 6 January 1904, at Congreve Buildings, 3 Station Street, in the Town of Burton upon Trent, in Staffordshire, England. She was 75 years old at the time and the cause of her death will be on her Certificate[11]. She is interred on the 10 January 1904 at the Stapenhill Cemetery, 38 Stapenhill Road, in the Town of Burton-On-Trent, Borough of East Staffordshire, Staffordshire, England. Her grave is located at Grave number: 5459[12][13].
