William was born in 1828. He was the son of Shadrack Ward and Levina Hylton[1].

2nd Lieutenant in Co E of Kentucky infantry B of Diamonds and 10th KY Calvary Co. A o 14 th Georgia Calvary and in the Confederate army between the States
