Samuel Ward was born to Andrew and Hester Sherman Warde in Wethersfield in about 1644.
On March 15, 1668: "Samuel Ward receives his lands, etc., which were given
him by his father's will, and at the same time purchases of his brother Andrew certain lands. The town granted to Samuel Ward a home lot near the mill, and other lands in succeeding years."
Samuel was sergeant in the Fairfield Trainband, and represented Fairfield as a deputy in the General Court in 1691.
Samuel married, first, Hannah Ogden, the daughter of Richard, likely in Fairfield about 1670.
Samuel then married Hannah Hawkins Nichols, widow of Jonathan.
Samuel died in Fairfield, shortly before the inventory of his possessions was taken 8 Jan 1692-3.
