Alfred Edward McIntosh and Jane Ward were married after banns at St Philip's, Sculcoates, Yorkshire on 12th April 1891.[1] They were bachelor and spinster and both living in Mason Street. Alfred was 22, a private in the Royal Marine Light Infantry and the son of Thomas McIntosh (deceased) who had been an ivory worker. Jane was 20 and the daughter of William Ward (deceased) who had been a labourer. They each signed their own name on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were Henry Rial and Emma Ward.[2]
