Bertha Mae Ward was born. May 16, 1900 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, the daughter of John Floyd Ward (1872 - 1922 and Sarah L. Savage Ward (1877 - 1922). She was the sister of Bertha Mae Ward Seay (1900 - 1965), Broughton, Burrell Ward (1913 - 1973) and Clyde L. Ward (1917 - 1955).

Bertha Mae married William Frank Seay on July 3, 1921 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. They had following children:[1][2]

  2. Nellie S. (Seay) Kimbrell.
  3. Clarence Seay
  4. Earnest Earl “Snake” Seay [3]
  5. Johnny Seay
  6. Roy Seay
  7. Ruth Seay Rollins

Bertha Mae died February 11, 1965 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was buried at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church Cemetery, Boiling Springs, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, USA.[4]
