George Henry Ward was born on 27th February 1857 in Adelaide's seaside suburb of Brighton, South Australia. On the Genealogy SA transcript, his parents are listed as William Ward & Eliza Quin. On the 25th August 1881, at the property of his soon-to-be wife's family (William & Alice Pengilly), he married Mary Jane Pengilly. Together they had 4 children. On the 26th March 1936, he passed away at a small rural town in the Mid-North, Blyth. He was buried in Koolunga cemetery, Koolunga on the 27 March 1936, aged 79 years.
