"England Marriages, 1538–1973 ," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NND9-7MZ : 10 December 2014), Stephen Norton and Elizabeth Ward, 05 Oct 1822; citing Great Chart, Kent, England, reference item 3 p 0, index based upon data collected by the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City; FHL microfilm 1,786,212.
"England and Wales Census, 1851," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGRZ-GLS : 29 July 2017), Elizabeth Norton in household of Stephen Norton, Ashford Kent, Kent, England; citing Ashford Kent, Kent, England, p. 16, from "1851 England, Scotland and Wales census," database and images, findmypast (http://www.findmypast.com : n.d.); citing PRO HO 107, The National Archives of the UK, Kew, Surrey.
This is the only marriage for close to the time frame stated of Norton to Ward, others occurred much later, in England or the USA.
Based on this, And the age stated, Elizabeth would only have been 11. In all seriousness I do not think the Elizabeth of the marriage record and census is the daughter of the Thomas and Sarah Ward, who did come to America with their chlldren and died in Alabama.
There is a tree at familysearch that has an Elizabeth Ward, with several children one being Harriet near the same age as the Harriet listed here, but who married a Baker and stayed in England. https://familysearch.org/tree/person/LH6B-7ZH/details This profile has Elizabeth born in 1804, which is a lot more probable then an 11 year old.
Another tree at ancestry has her married to both Stephen Norton and Alexander P. Morton and having children simultanously with both. While another has the vital dates of 1811 - 1889 while having a child in Missouri, which tracks this child to Texas in 1880, and the parents were born in Illinois.
I am removing the parents Thomas William Ward and Sarah Jane Love of the Elizabeth based on these findings. Leaving Elizabeth, because Stephen did marry an Elizabeth, just not the daughter of Thomas and Sarah.
There is no evidence that the Elizabeth who m. Stephen came to America.
