Rufus Alexander Ware born in 1847, was the the son of Thomas Ceaton Ware and Jane (Oates) Ware. He Married firstly, Mary Elizabeth "Susannah" Stewart after he returned from service with the CSA in the Civil War. Rufus and Susannah had at least the following children:
- William F Ware born 1868
- Thomas Markson Ware born 1869.
- Laura Ware born 1871.
- Sarah Jeanne Ware born 1873.
- Elizabeth Ware born 1875.
- Rufus Alexander Ware born 1876.
- James S Ware born 1879.
Rufus married secondly, Nancy Kirby after 1898 and the had at least the following children:
- Joshua Ware born 1899.
