Caleb Ware was born before 1687, as he witnessed a deed on 30 Nov 1708 between Samuel Goode and Walter Scott in Henrico County, Virginia.[1] On 1 Aug 1711 he witnessed a deed between James Branch and Matthew Branch, also in Henrico County, Virginia.[1] He was probably born in England, as a headright was paid for importing him. However, this could be because he was sent to England to be schooled, and the headright was for his return.[2]
On 1 Mar 1708, Caleb married Mrs. Bethania Douglas.[3]
In 1715, John Woodson III claimed a headright for importing Caleb Ware to Virginia.[4]
On 5 Apr 1736, he witnessed a deed between Henry Cary, Gentleman, and John Willson, Gentleman, for 4,389 acres of land in Dale Parish; bounded by Henry Trent, dec'd, and Falling Creek, Mr. Good's corner, Grindal's Run, Hon. Wm. Byrd, Esq., James Branch and Caleb Ware, and falls of Pocoshock.[1] Since this large tract was located in Dale Parish south of the James River, that must be where Caleb lived.[2]
