John Adams Warner was born on 17 Sep. 1887 at New York, USA. He lived with his parents, Jonathan Foster Warner and Mary (Adams) warner, in 1899 at, Monroe Co., New York.^[1] He appeared on the census of 5 June 1900 in the household of his parents at Rochester, Monroe Co., New York.^[2]

John Adams Warner married Emily Smith, daughter of the Governor of the State of New York, in 1926.

John Adams Warner was the Superintendent of the New York State Police from 1923 to 1943. During his tenure as Superintendent, the New York State Police Laboratory system was founded.
