Biography

Samuel Warner was born on 24 January, 1688, at Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts. [1]

Samuel was the second son of Nathaniel Warner and his wife, Johanna, to be given the first name of Samuel as he had an older brother, also named Samuel who was born on 15 January, 1687 (1686/7), and died the same day, at Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts. [1]

He was one of 12 First Settlers of Stafford, Connecticut in 1719.

1. Samuel married first Phebe Hutchison, and had one child:

  • Phebe Warner who married Moses Brown/Bronson of Tolland, CT

2. Samuel married second Abigail Church and had the following children:

  • Abigail b Aug 14 1724 [MAYBE: d. Monson, MA 11 Apr 1771 m. in Somers Ct, Jacob Kibbe Jr., although since she is not mentioned in the will, its probably that this Abigail was the daughter of Samuel's brother John).
  • Joanna b 19 Jun 1726 m in Pomfret, CT Stephen Farnam
  • Mehitable b 19 Mar 1728 d in Bolton (Vernon) CT 16 Nov 1783. m in Coventry, CT Asahel Root
  • Experience b 4 Sep 1729 m Ebenezer Allis
  • Jemima (mentioned in will), no further information

3, Samuel married third Martha ________, his wife mentioned in his will.

The Last will and testament of Samuel Warner names wife Martha, daughter Phebe from first wife, daughter Joanna, grandson Samuel Root, granddaughter Naomi Allis, daughters Mehitable, Experience and Jemima, son Asel Root, [2]

Samuel had two other brothers also born at Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts who removed to Stafford, CT: [1]
