Aurel spent most of her life from childhood on living in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood of St. Paul in the shadows of the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. She married her high school sweetheart, Warren Cleland Waite, and they both received their undergraduate degrees from the University in 1919. Warren went on to become a renowned professor, economist and author for whom the University Economics Library collection was named. After Warren's death, Aurel later married Frank J. Clark, a long time employee of the Webb Company, editor of "The Farmer" magazine and resident of St. Anthony Park whose first wife passed away during the fall of 1950 within weeks of Warren's death.
