Biography

Lily Minnie was born in about 1868 at Nelson, New Zealand. She was the daughter of John Waterhouse and Mary Ann Harman.

From the 1896 City of Nelson electoral roll - Waterhouse, Lily Minnie, Collingwood Street, domestic duties, residential

Lily married Leslie George Sutton on 12 April 1898.

From the Colonist, Nelson dated 19 April 1898, Pg 2 - MARRIAGES.

SUTTON— WATERHOUSE. On April 12th, at All Saints' Church, Nelson, by the Rev. F. W. Chatterton, Leslie George, fourth son of William Sutton, Richmond, to Lily Minnie, youngest daughter of John Waterhouse, Nelson.

Lily died on 5 February 1953 aged 84.

Lily was buried with her husband at Richmond Cemetery on 7 February 1953 [Block B Row 6 Plot 3].

    Regarding her mother Mary Ann:

    Mrs Mary Ann Waterhouse, of Collingwood street, Nelson, relict of the late Mr John Waterhouse, who predeceased her by four years. Arriving with her parents, Mr and Mrs Thomas Harman, in the Indus in the beginning of 1842, at the age of 10, she lived in Collingwood street, Nelson, up to 12 months ago, when she removed to the residence of her daughter, Mrs L. Sutton, of Richmond, passing away at the ripe old age of 84. Mrs Waterhouse followed the profession of a nurse for 35 years.

Waterhouse-371 and Waterhouse-480 appear to represent the same person because: Obviously the same person. I am not sure which spelling of Lillie/Lily is correct.
