Hello Paul

Thank you for joining WikiTree. I'm a WikiTree Mentor available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you have.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me via my profile page.

Maryann ~ WikiTree Mentor

Welcome Paul!

I'm glad you found us. To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), you’ll need to sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, click my name and check out the "Greeter" section-especially the Sources links and the link to my fellow greeter Debby, who has helpful information on her profile page also.

If you get stuck on anything and can't find an answer in WikiTree Help or How to Use WikiTree, you can post to G2G or give me a holler.

Thank you for joining our collaborative tree! Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!

I have worked on Ancestry with our family tree for the last three years and will be interested to extend the information to Wikitree. There were many fascinating stories and facts that we uncovered during our fantastic journey.

Hello Paul, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process that you might find helpful. Also, about 'Importing a GEDCOM' Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out.

Be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.

It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, your parents and then your grandparents, just to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, to start, you could upload just one small portion of your tree with a gedcom to see how that works. There is often editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles makes the task easier.
