Biography

Young and his brother Richard jointly sold Gascoyne Wood in 1792, but Richard seems have been his father's chief heir. Young married Elizabeth Stevens at High Halden on 27 December 1799 and died eight days later on 4 January 1800. His gravestone quotes Job 10:1 and 17:11 viz: "My Soul is weary of my life. I will leave my complaint upon myself, I will speak in the bitterness of my Soul. My days are past: my purposes are broken off."
