George Waters emigrated to Canada with his daughter Ruth and granddaughter Ruie Webb from Portsmouth, England in 1875. They settled at Craigie Lea in 1879. After 1881, George divided his land on Lake Joseph at Craigie Lea between his son Tom and daughter Ruth, with the understanding that the grove of pine trees between the two lots was never to be cut.[1]

THoams and Margret born in England, Thomas of English descent and Margret of Scottish ancestry; children both born in Ontario.
