John Watkins "John Watkins of Henrico County"[1]
The origin of John Watkins is unknown according to John Stutesman, who wrote an article, " John Watkins of Henrico County, 1743," however "assertions have been made" that he was a grandson of the Henry Watkins, Quaker farmer in Henrico County.[1]
John married to Elizabeth Unknown.[1] Our only records of her do not give her maiden name.
Children, four sons and four daughters, (in the order mentioned in John's will):
John left his son, John, "all my carpenter's and cooper's tools" and the 150 acres in Henrico County "whereon I now live."[1]
John wrote his will on 28 July 1743 and signed it "W." It was probated on the "first Monday in May 1744" at Henrico County, Virginia.[1]
John's will appointed executors, his "wife Elizabeth" and son John; the witnesses were Henry and Ann Stokes, and "Honour Sullavent".[1]
