Elsie and Maurice divorce after the birth of their last child in 1940. By 02 June 1942, Elsie marries as her second husband Charles Frederick Zacher in Stewartsville, DeKalb, Missouri. During 1943 through 1956 together they have six children including a set of twins, one boy and one girl. By the 4th of March 1970, Elsie passes away and is buried in the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, McDonald County, Missouri and one year later her spouse, Charles dies on 21 August 1971 in the same village and buried in the same cemetery beside his wife.
Maurice and Ethel divorce after the birth of their last child who was born on 19 July 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa. On 02 June 1942, Stewartsville, DeKalb County, Missouri to Charles Frederick Zacher. They have six children together including one set of twins, between the years 1943-1956. They both die in Pineville, McDonald, Missouri and are buried in the Pineville Cemetery. Elsie died on 04 March 1970, and Charles on 19 January 1951 and are laid side by side in this cemetery.
Elsie Grace Watkins was born on 27 April 1907 in Hemple, Clinton, Missouri to James Riley Watkins and Ethel Prudence Riggs. She can be found on the 1910 Census Lafayette, Clinton, Missouri with James D. Watkins (grandfather) and Elizabeth Watkins (grandmother) her father is James R. Watkins, age 26, the son of James D. & Elizabeth; his wife is Ethel, age 22, daughter-in-law of James D. & Elizabeth, Elsie G. is 2 years of age, and John age 0 both grandchildren of James D. & Elizabeth. On the 1920 U.S. Federal Census, this family is living in Colfax Township, Daviess County, Missouri District 49; Elsie is age 12, John in 10; James is married to Esther (sister of Ethel, his first wife). By 1925, Elsie marries for the first time on the 15th of October to Maurice Patrick Kanan. They have thirteen children together of which not all survive infancy.
