DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Mary Watkins b. c. 9 Aug 1682 is most likely the child of Henry Watkins Jr. and Mary Crispe. At her marriage with Nicholas Hutchins in 1701 the marriage is witnessed by Henry Watkins Jr. and Mary Watkins - her parents. She is the first born of Henry Watkins and Mary Crispe and named after her mother. Though the dates would allow her to possibly be the daugher of Henry Watkins Sr and Katherine Pride - it is more likely she is a grandaughter of this union not a daughter. I have her in my research as the daughter of Henry Watkins Jr and Mary Crispe.
not sure why, but the profile for Unknown Holme (1675-aft.1729) was detached as her husband. An earlier edit had added/edited marriage dates: married after 1729-08-09 / marriage ended before 1736-08-02 (instead of guess of 1729-10-14).
Here are a couple of records for the marriage. Dates don't make sense though. Date is before Nicholas's death.

Mary [Mrs] Watkins marriage to Edward Mosby on 10 Sep 1716 in Henrico, Virginia, USA.
Mary Watkins Hutchins does marry someone named Holme after the death of Nicholas Hutchins. She ultimately becomes a widow of that marriage and James Stanley who married Catherine Hutchins, daughter of Nicholas Hutchins, is appealing to the quakers for help in taking care of his Mother in Law Mary Holme. I believe it was in the 1730's - I firmly believe that this is the MARY HOLME that is attached to THOMAS STANLEY, THE FATHER OF JAMES STANLEY. Mary Holme is associated as the mother of Thomas Staney's children and SHE IS NOT. The first four children are by the first wife Rebecca who likely died by 1700. Then there is an implied marriage to an Anne Case in the early Quaker Records between 1701-1703 and she has likely died by c. 1725, then Thomas marries UNKNOWN 1726 and is removed from the Quaker church for MOU, and by c. 1730's Thomas is probably a widow again when MARY WATKINS HUTCHINS HOLME IS AVAILABLE. I want to say around 1734 but I can't find it immediately.
Hi Carl! I'm going through my watchlist, trying to reduce it... Mary is a cousin, not a lineal ancestor, so I replaced myself as manager with the Virginia project (the profile gets enough attention that I'd like to continue to help keep an eye on it, which I can do if it's managed by the Virginia Project). Cheers, Liz
The US Southern Colonies Project was re-launched in June 2020, so pre-USA profiles are back to that project's scope. I removed Virginia Project as manager. If you think the profile needs to be managed by a project, please fill out the US Southern Colonies' Managed Profile Request form (see the link on this page).
Watson-7331 and Watkins-267 appear to represent the same person because: See comments & bios of both. These are NOT the same person, based on the bio of Watson-7331 & the fact they have different parents. Watkins-267 is sourced as wife of (1) Holmes & (2) Hutchins. I'm proposing the merge so that e-mail notices of this comment are sent to profile managers of both profiles. I'll reject it in a sec - and detach Watson-7331 as wife of Hutchins (and propose a merge for the duplicate profiles of him). P.S. I started this G2G discussion about Hutchins-349 and Hutchins-61.
edit - corrected a typo & added link to G2G discussion about husband(s?).

Watkins-267 and Watson-7331 do not represent the same person because: See comment posted on Watkins-267 today. Bio of Watson-7331 indicates two Marys were merged in reference (which appears to be how Watson-7331 acquired the husband - Hutchins - of Watkins-267). These profiles are now set in an unmerged match & have a G2G discussion: See https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/481297/watkins-married-nicholas-hutchins-watson-different-nicholas
