DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
Bill Alexander is a direct descendant of James Riley Watkins and Esther Mae Riggs Watkins, through his maternal grandmother Elizabeth 'Betty' Watkins and Everett Parton, a brother of Adelina Parton, who had married Betty's brother James 'Jim' Daniel Watkins, and Irene Ethel Parton who married Betty's brother, Charles Edwin Watkins on the same day of 08 February 1941. Making all their offspring 'double' cousins, and their genealogies identical except for their parents. Making my relationship with him as first cousins once removed. He does a lot of research for findagrave.com
