Biography

John Watson was born in Kent in 1812. He was the son of WIlliam Watson and Sarah Webb.

He married Harriett Weeks at Rolvenden on the 10th of March, 1838.[1][2]

John Watson was a Bounty Immigrant to New South Wales.

John, Harriett, and baby Philadelphia (or Delphemia) migrated to New South Wales as Bounty Immigrants via the ship Westminster in 1838. John was recorded as a farm labourer.[3][4][5] His sister Hannah migrated later in the year, and another sister, Harriet, followed in 1839.

He died at Newcastle, New South Wales, in 1871. At the time of John Watson's death he had 4 living sons, 5 living daughters and 1 deceased daughter, as recorded on his death certificate.[6]
