DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships by comparing test results with William or other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
  • William Watson: Family Tree DNA Y-DNA Test 111 markers, haplogroup A5616, FTDNA kit #B89548

Hi William,

I rejected an unmerged match you proposed here for now because the profiles are part of a bad merge situation. As soon as I fix that, I will take a look at the two profiles you had as a possible match. I left notes and warning signs on the involved profiles and will let you know when it’s all cleaned up.

Thanks for your work on these profiles!! Bad merges make quite a mess.

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. That's awesome. Our GEDCOM process is a bit different than what might be used to on other sites. We have some great help pages to make your experience go more smoothly:

* Uploading vs. importing * What is GEDCompare? * Before importing a GEDCOM * After importing a GEDCOM

If you have any questions about your GEDCOM or our process, you can contact our GEDCOM Manager for assistance.

Thanks!

Hello William,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? When you confirm your email address, you’ll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message here on your profile saying you'd like to add your Family & Ancestors. A Greeters' Project volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.

Gilly
