When Robert was about 49 he married on 8 April 1619 in Surrey, England.[1]
Research Notes
Estimates for birth range from 1570 to 1580 on several former, merged profiles.
I can find no evidence of a baptism around 1580 of Robert Watson in Wath upon Dearne, or in the surrounding area on Family Search, Ancestry or Findmypast. All searched 5 August 2020 Williams-47589 07:42, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Notes from external profile
According to the analysis of Robert Charles Anderson, this man did not exist.
From Robert Charles Anderson, Great Migration Begins, volume II, "Phantom Files, p. 2103: Robert Watson. Claims arr 1632 to Plymouth, bro of John Watson of Roxbury; father of George Watson of Plymouth. Should be rejected totally; no evidence in Plymouth or elsewhere in NE for such a Robert; nor for any connection btw John and George Watson. An assignment of a servant by “Elizabeth Watson, widow, … unto Thomas Watson,” on 8 Nov 1638 [PCR 1:102], is cited as support of this claim; but this record says nothing about a Robert, nor does it connect to records of other Watson immigrants.
His continued existence is perpetuated by online family trees lacking adequate documentation.
Therefore we need to figure out what to do with the rest of his family.

Conclusion
Internet trees have conflated Nathaniel (d. Aug 1690), son of Robert (d. 1689), with an imaginary son of Robert Watson and Elizabeth Pye. Merged Watson-787 merged with well sourced Watson-17913 (1663-1690)

Watson-792 and Watson-37 appear to represent the same person because: These two have a close birth year (1570 and 1576 – per comments below these are estimates for the same person), the same death date, and a wife with the same name.
I am a descendant of Edward Watson, son of Robert Watson. Here is the info I have so that you can return Robert to the Living as its weird he's considered 'made up' given the intermarriages of this family, in the little that I know myself. Christened: Dec 24, 1576, age 6, at West Hesterton, Yorkshire County, England, ImmAnc MFdec P41rel, P43rel, and same for his wife Elizabeth. Family ID 6007, married in England. He has George, Thomas, Samuel, Robert, Edward, Frances, John and Nathaniel. This info is from American Heritage Families but is also on the 1999 DAR Research provided to my mom, which also includes Robert Watson as father of son Edward. Robert Watson should be returned to the Living Persons category. Further, you can trace the family intermarrying with the Hall Family, Hale, Doolittle, Calvert, Cornwall, Peck, and the connections of the families back in Europe which go far back. Also, I have Watsons through both my maternal family main lines, my mom's dad and my mom's mom. I hope this helps.
Robert Watson moved Spring 1636 with the Dorchester settlers at Windsor, Conn where he died in the summer of 1637 {Family Records}, leaving his wife Elizabeth, George, Thomas, Samuel and Edward (possibly) at Plymouth, going with Robert, Nathaniel and John. Their training house was located at the meadow south of the Tunxis River, even now locally known as "Plymouth Meadow" and the "Great Meadow above the Tunxis, now Farmington River, was used by the Dorchester colonists, and it was with these Dorchester people where Robert Watson located his home and where he died in 1637, and where Robert continued to reside while not married. Robert Watson was identified with emigration of Rev. John Warham by location of home lot t which was above the Palisado and on the Great Meadow north of the Tunxis River - assigned by purchase and preemption to the Dorchester Colony, that below the Tunxis River on which the Plymouth Colony's Trading house was located being called "Plymouth Meadow" and afterwards purchased by the Dorchester people. The Town Records of Windsor previous to 1650 have not survived. Family papers and tradition are largely relied upon for knowledge of places and things. Trumbull's History vol i, page 183, says "the young and enterprising colonies of Connecticut and New Haven have attracted from Plymouth and Massachusetts some of their most active and progressive men." The first meeting of the "United Colonies" was held at Boston September 1, 1643 (They were held quarterly, and alternatively, at Boston, Hartford, Plymouth and New Haven.) Governor Eaton took the Oath of Allegiance at New Haven July 1644, administering the same oath that day to others, including Edward Watson, who married Grace, widow of John Walker, and their daughter Grace married Thomas Hall 1673 who was from Wallingford, Conn, they had 11 children. Edward moved to New Haven. Robert remained on his father's lot in Windsor. (1947 Watson Genealogy) Hoping sharing this info is helpful to the research, and knowing these are not primary sources. I'll share any more research I find.
