Biography
In 1851 Phillip was living with his parents JOhn and Eliza and younger sister Elizabeth in Wyegate Green (near Clearwell). His father was an agricultural labourer. [1]
On 28th July 1877 Philip married Eliza Cooper. they both lived at Berry Hill. Philip was a Collier, as his father had been. [2]
In 1911 Philip and Eliza lived in 4 rooms in Berry Hill. He was a Miners Examiner and the couple lived with 4 children. They had been married for 34 years and had 10 children of whom 1 had died. [3]
Philip died at the age of 66 in 1917 and was buried on September 12th. [4]
