John Watt was born in Scotland.

John Watt was born on or before his baptism on the 25th of April, 1781, in Drumblade, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, the 4th of 9 children of John Watt and Margaret Gordon.^[1]

At 30, on the 3rd of July, 1811, he married Christine Bagrie, and they had 7 children.^[2]

At 82, on the 30th of September, 1863, he died in Drumblade, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.^{[citation needed]}
