Biography

Bessie Patterson was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Erwin Road, Lower Young Cane, Union County, Georgia for the April 21, United States Census, 1930. She was noted as born 1898 in Georgia and married. She was first married at the age of twenty-two as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Arvel B Patterson, daughter Flora Belle Patterson, son Robert E Patterson, daughter Sarrah N Patterson, daughter Roselle Patterson and son Roeyzane Patterson.^[1]

On April 1, 1935, Bessie Patterson lived in rural Union County, Georgia.^[2]

Bessie Patterson was enumerated as head of the household at Militia District 1050, Union County, Georgia for the April 15, United States Census, 1940. She was noted as born 1898 in Georgia and married. She rented a home and was shown to be a farmer on a farm as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are son Robert E Patterson, daughter Sarah N Patterson, daughter Roselle Patterson, son Raeyzane Patterson, son Bruce Patterson, son Dan Patterson, son Larry Patterson and son Billy Patterson.^[2]

Sarah Bessie Weaver was listed as the mother of Dan James Patterson who died September 23, 1988 in North Wilkesboro, Wilkes County, North Carolina. The father was listed as Arvil Bruce Patterson and the wife Wanda Yates.^[3]

Bessie Weaver Patterson is buried at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Morganton, Fannin County, Georgia.^[4]
