The Albermarle Parish Register of births recorded her name as "Winney". Her father also called her "Winnie" in his will. Whether or not this was a nickname for Winifred remains to be verified. In her father's 1776 will, she is still unmarried - "Winnie Weaver".
This profile shows that she married James Ogburn. We need proof or a documented theory to prove that Winney, daughter of Edward and Mary of Sussex, was the same as Winnifred who married James Ogburn.
Since the marriage date on this profile is 1769, this cannot be the same Winney as the wife of Ogburn. If we had the marriage date for Ogburn, this would help verify the relationship.
Winney Weaver was born in 1755 as noted in Albemarle Parish records. Winifred Ogburn passed away about 1824. [1]
