Ellen Frances Webb was born on January 19, 1862 in Adelaide, Colony of South Australia, daughter of Charles Francis Webb and Eliza Phillips. (see research notes)

Ellen married Flinders Johnson (born on March 23, 1860 in Flinders Lighthouse, Cape Borda, Kangaroo Island, South Australia; son of Charles (Buttner) Johnson) on April 2, 1888 in Catholic Presbytery, Kadina, South Australia, Australia.^[1] Their known children were:

1. Frederick Charles Johnson (1890–1967)
2. Bella Johnson (1892– )
3. William Mervyn Johnson (1893–1963)
4. Nellie Johnson (1895–1896)
5. Lottie Johnson (1896–1980)

Ellen died on December 31, 1896 in Moonta, Colony of South Australia.^[2] She was buried at Moonta Cemetery.^[3]
